The Growing Importance of Pharmacy Technicians Post-COVID-19 Pandemic

Video

Every pharmacist knows that if they don't have a well-trained technician available, they're not going to be able to do the things that were so amplified during COVID-19.

Nancy Lyons, VP, Chief Pharmacy Officer, Healthmart, McKesson, spoke to Pharmacy Times about pharmacy technicians and their role post-COVID-19 pandemic.

Lyons: It's wonderful to think about. So COVID-19 shed a light on so many of the pharmacy services that are provided in the community. And every pharmacist knows that if they don't have a technician, a well-trained technician available, they're not going to be able to get out and do those- that was so amplified during COVID-19. When the nation asked us to do so much more than just putting those pills in the bottle. Services they had been doing forever, were suddenly critical as this country needed pharmacies a lot.
