Healthcare hires of note

Igentify, a digital health company that’s developed a platform to securely streamline the genetic testing and results process, has added three experts to its leadership team.

Danielle Gutter has been named vice president of global sales. Her responsibilities include creating and executing sales strategies that promote growth and customer satisfaction – both nationally and internationally – and growing the sales team. Prior to Igentify, Danielle contributed to the successful launch of the oncology divisions at both Natera and Counsyl.

Amanda Swiatocha has been named vice president of marketing. She will build, protect, and communicate the Igentify brand and reputation, raise awareness of its products, and set the marketing and communications strategy. Prior to Igentify she worked for 12 years at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, where she oversaw a team of 15 individuals working in public relations, corporate marketing, relationship management and customer support.

Sharon Topolski-Nahmias was named as COO. She previously worked for 17 years at Philips Healthcare in various roles, including the general manager of Phillips Radiology Informatics and head of the project management office.

ElevateBio, a technology-driven company developing cell and gene therapies, has hired Jill Mooney as senior vice president of research and development. She has more than 20 years of scientific expertise and a broad background in immuno-oncology, cell-based therapeutics for cancers, as well as synthetic biology and process development for cell therapies.

Most recently, she was Head of Synthorx (acquired by Sanofi Co.) R&D and was responsible for the integration of the company’s platform into the global Sanofi large molecule research organization.

Hinge Health has appointed Mario Queiroz chief product officer. In this role, Queiroz will be responsible for driving the company’s product strategy and innovations to make musculoskeletal care more accessible, affordable, and equitable for employers and members. Queiroz previously led product functions at Palo Alto Networks, Google, and HP.

Woebot Health has appointed Moses Ike CFO, reporting to CEO Michael Evers. He previously worked for Paradigm Corp. where he was head of M&A and corporate development. In that role, Ike oversaw all acquisitions, structural joint ventures and partnerships and worked closely with senior leadership to identify and nurture companies for acquisition. Prior to Paradigm, he was director of venture investments and corporate development for Blue Shield of California.

Lyniate, a global leader in healthcare data interoperability, has named Scott Galbari president, COO, and chief information security officer. It has also hired Mikael Andén as executive vice president of sales.

Prior to joining Lyniate, Andén was chief customer officer for hospitals at Intelerad, was president for North America at Sectra, and worked at Lawson Software, a global ERP company.

Medcura, a commercial-stage life science and medical device company, has promoted James (Jim) Buck to CEO. Buck has served as director since 2018.

Prior to Medcura, Buck served as president and CEO of cancer imaging business ClearCut Medical. He has also served as president and CEO of heart valve therapy developer, Mardil Medical.

Apexigen, a company focused on developing innovative antibody-based therapeutics for the treatment of cancer with a focus on immuno-oncology, has named William Duke as CFO.

Prior to Apexigen, Duke served as CFO of Kaleido. He also served as CFO of Pulmatrix.

Medical Guardian, a provider of personal emergency response systems, has appointed Alex Prough as the new senior vice president of health services.

Prough most recently served as the vice president of business development at Truepill. Prior to that, he led the Medicare and Medicaid businesses at Best Buy Health.

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center has named Dr. Chyke Doubeni to serve as chief health equity officer and lead the Office of Health Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.

Doubeni will also be the associate director for diversity, equity and inclusion for The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute and will hold a faculty appointment in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.

In addition to his roles within the medical center, Doubeni will work closely with The Ohio State University Office of Academic Affairs.

Doubeni previously worked at the Mayo Clinic, where he was the director of the Mayo Clinic Center for Health Equity and Community Engagement Research. In addition, he served as director of the community engagement program in the Mayo Clinic Center for Clinical and Translational Science, deputy director for community outreach and engagement, including minority accrual on the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center Executive Committee, and professor of family medicine at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.

Dr. Jack Resneck Jr.,  a dermatologist, was sworn in today as the 177th president of the American Medical Association. He was sworn in during the annual meeting of the AMA House of Delegates.

Resnick, who has served as a dermatologist in California for more than two decades, is currently vice chair and professor of dermatology at the University of California San Francisco.

Wheel, a health tech company, has hired Shoshana Deutschkron as its first Chief Marketing Officer. Wheel also appointed several new executives to its leadership team, including Brandon Castel as vice president of sales; Daniel DeSantis as vice president of partnerships; and Brendon Kelly, as business lead, behavioral health.

Castel most recently served in a sales leadership role with Omada Health.

DeSantis led digital care programs at CareFirst, BlueCross BlueShield, and Quartet Health.

Kelly has held senior roles at behavioral health companies including Big Health, BetterUp, and Happify Health
