Kinomica, BioCity, Redx Pharma and Alderley Park on accessing science funding and investment

Episode 1 of the Alderley Park Discovery podcast on the Lighthouse Labs

In the third episode of the Alderley Park Discovery Podcast I’m joined by Kinomica CEO Jane Theaker, BioCity investment director Claire Brown, Redx Pharma CEO Lisa Anson and Dr Kath Mackay, managing director at Bruntwood SciTech – Alderley Park.

They bring their collective industry experience to look at how to successfully access life science funding and investment, and highlight a range of ways companies can attract investors.

In the first section of the podcast Claire and Jane discuss how Kinomica secured £3.9 million in funding from a range of investors, including Alderley Park Ventures and BioCity.

They’re followed by Redx Pharma’s Lisa Anson, who talks about the company’s multi-million global licensing deal with pharma giant AstraZeneca and its other recent fundraising milestones.

The episode concludes Dr Kath Mackay and a discussion about Alderley Park’s business support programme the Alderley Park Accelerator and her thoughts on why creating connections is so important.

You can also catch episode two of the podcast, which covered university connections in life sciences, and episode one’s look on the challenges of building COVID-19 testing capacity at the Alderley Park Lighthouse Lab.
