A Pharma Marketing Pioneer, Sander Flaum, Passed Away

Staff members of Med Ad News and PharmaLive.com are sad to report the death of their colleague and industry friend, Sander Flaum, who passed away on December 11, 2022. He was an experienced sales and marketing professional.


He founded and managed Flaum Navigators, an agency that focuses on sales and marketing. He also served as an advisory board member for the Fisher College of Business, and he was recently inducted into the Hall of Fame of Medical Advertising.


After serving in the US Military, Flaum worked at various companies, including Lederle Laboratories. In 1988, he transitioned to the agency side of the organization and became the CEO of Euro RSCG Becker. During his 16 years with the company, he launched multiple brands that have generated over $2 billion in revenue. He then launched Flaum Navigators in 2004, which was a consultancy that sought to help clients embrace innovation in medical sales and marketing.


He earned his undergraduate and MBA degrees from The Ohio State University. He also serves on the boards of various organizations, including the Fisher College of Business and the James Cancer Center at The Ohio State University.


In his book, "The Best Thing That Could Ever Come to You" Flaum talked about his journey from career setbacks to finding success. Last year, he published "The Stutter Steps," which was about overcoming your fears and living fearlessly. His most recent column, "For a Pop in Prescriptions," was featured in the December 2022 edition of Med Ad News.
